Revelry
By Susan Mardele
On a silky-smooth spring day,
birds sing joy in warmth and renewal,
Eponymous redbuds stretch
impossibly fuchsia buds into tender breezes,
Reveling in their short,
spectacular season for being,
A dusting of first green shows shyly
over winter’s brown scruff.
Palpable relief exudes from every soul.
Winter is over.
